Its Murphy’s Law that Network Data Points can get damaged by Vandalism, Accidental Damage or Wear and Tear. Over the years we have seen it all, Broken Modules, Broken Face plates, even Data Cabinets falling off Walls!
Murphy’s Law also applies that these Data Outlets are in an area where they are most needed and mini switches or even worse Network Splitters are used to get a connection. These network hops cause delay and reliability problems and should only be used whilst waiting for a repair to be undertaken. Our record so far is 14 removed from a single network. The cost of the switches alone was more than we charged to repair the damaged outlets!
Our Cabling Engineers carry a wide range of spares and in the majority of cases can undertake a repair during initial visit. However if the problem is found to be a cabling issue and for Health and safety reasons or your business is just too busy and we cannot undertake the replacement there and then we can undertake the work out of hours or weekends.
Data Outlets, Fibre outlets and Telephone sockets should be located as close as possible to the work area so that Patch leads and Power cables can be kept as short as possible. Cables trailing across floors and work areas in a attempt to connect to outlets that are not ideally located causes a trip hazard we can relocate existing outlets closer to the work area and neatly route patch leads
